A router is a network device that connects 2 or more networks together, as in your home network to the internet or your network at work to the internet,

A firewall is a network device that stops inbound and/or unwanted network traffic.
Both routers and firewalls come in all
shapes and sizes, sometimes they are separate devices, sometimes they are the same device, depends on your network setup. Whether they are separate

Consumer vs. Commercial, What is the difference?
Most of us have bought a router/firewall for home use, the kinds you get at Best Buy or Walmart. These are considered consumer devices, and they work great for your home. But businesses and enterprises are much more demanding than what consumer routers can typically do. That's where commercial routers/firewalls come in. They offer greater customization, monitoring, reporting, and also have enhanced security concepts, as they typically are more of a target than consumer routers. If you think you may be using a consumer router/firewall for your business, you should to have it replaced as soon as possible.
